Thank you for choosing a piece of EK Art jewelry. Our jewelry is handmade using combinations of sterling silver, fine silver, and in some special pieces 18k gold. We get the highest quality of fine silver and we make the alloy to get the 925 sterling silver. It is not plated and the gold will not scratch through or wear off.
Oxidized sterling is blackened by immersing the silver in a sulfur solution. The color will not rub off on your skin or clothing.
Apply your make-up, perfume and hairspray prior to putting on your jewelry.
Remove your jewelry before doing any household work or manual labor.
Never wear pearls earrings or necklaces when getting your hair colored or engaging in any water activities.
Wrap each piece individually in a tissue or cloth to avoid scratching. Place each piece in cloth pouches, small boxes or individual plastic bags.
To brighten tarnished silver, we recommend wiping the silver areas with a Q tip dipped in liquid silver cleaner such as Tarnex or Goddard's. You can immerse the chains, but not the rest of the piece if there are stones or pearls.
After using the dip, be sure to wash the piece in warm soapy water and rinse well before drying.
Another cleaning method is to line a small bowl with a piece of aluminum foil; add a few teaspoons of baking soda and a squirt of liquid detergent into the bowl and mix with boiling water. Immerse your tarnished silver jewelry in the solution for several minutes until it looks clean. Rinse well and dry.
Also you can keep your jewelry bright rubbing it often with a polishing cloth.
The oxidized silver, the gold parts and satin finished do not require cleaning with a polishing cloth or creamy silver polishing.
Please don't use household chemicals.
